PROBLEM

Static charges on substrates during processing can result in: 

  • Attraction of contamination to the material 
  • Static shocks to operators 
  • Burn damage to materials from static discharges 

SOLUTION

Controlling the static charges during unwinding and rewinding is key to providing materials fit for purpose. The use of Hyperion static bars in conjunction with SmartControl allows for the static control system to be operated and maintained to perform at its optimum. 

Feedback sensors and distance sensors can be included into the system to greatly improve static control.
