Wide format screenprint
PROBLEM
Static charges on substrates during processing can result in:
- Separation of sheets on infeed stack
- Static charges are created by the friction between the squeegee and the silk screen. The static charges can be seen in the print and sheet handling during printing as:-
- Pin holes in block colour
- Print edges being undefined
- Ink bridging between the substrate and the screen leaving ink tags
- Substrate being reattracted to the screen on separation contaminating the screen with wet ink
- Stacking issues on sheet delivery
SOLUTION
Sheet separators neutralise the static charges between the sheets on the infeed stack.
Mounting a Hyperion bars between driers and screen print stations overcomes print defects and sheet handling issues.
Controlling static charges as the sheets slide across the delivery stack, overcomes stacking issues.
