The Meech Coldstream Gun utilises compressed air to deliver a cold air source, ideal for spot cooling or reaching difficult areas. It comes in both adjustable and non-adjustable models with various options for knuckle trunking to deliver the cold air stream. The Coldstream Gun is capable of producing temperatures in excess of 40⁰C below the compressed air temperature.
Applications for the Coldstream Gun include but are not limited to:
- Ultrasonic weld cooling
- Spot cooling
- Metalwork: Grinding
- Component cooling

The inclusion of knuckle trunking allows cold air to be directed to the targeted area. This allows for precise cooling to a very localised area. The flexible nature of the knuckle trunking also allows for cooling in hard-to-reach areas.
The knuckle trunking is available in various configurations, allowing for muti-directional cooling for 3D component
The adjustable Coldstream Air Gun also allows for the temperature to be fine-tuned for specific application requirements.
The Meech Coldstream Gun has no moving parts, resulting in minimal maintenance.
All Coldstream Guns are supplied with a set of four high fraction generators (yellow, red, blue, brown). The red 15cfm generator is factory fitted as standard. The Table below shows the cooling capacity of each generator.

The Meech Coldstream Gun is a vortex tube encased within a hot and cold end silencer. The hot air is bled off into the atmosphere via the exhaust holes on the side of the hot end silencer, whilst the cold air is easily directed to the area to be cooled by use of knuckle trunking.
NEEDS UPDATING
The Coldstream Gun can be adjusted by changing the generators which will control the air volume and temperature. There is also an adjustable version which features a control valve to adjust the cold fraction for more flexible cooling.
The Coldstream Guns are intrinsically safe. However, please be aware of the following safety guidelines specific to the Coldstream Gun:
- Do not operate the Coldstream Gun at compressed air pressures above 11 Bar (160psi).
- All Coldstream Guns create both hot and cold air so parts of the unit will become hot.
- Compressed air temperature must not exceed 55⁰C.
- Ambient operating temperature must not drop lower than -10⁰C or exceed 66⁰C.
The cold air temperature can be as low as 50⁰C below the inlet air temperature and be maintained to +/- 0.6⁰C
