MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:
This role includes working within the Meech Engineering team on existing and new R&D projects and increasing the capability of the Engineering department to compress development timescales.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The design and redesign of new and existing products.
- Initial build and test of products throughout the design process,
- Reporting of test results with conclusions and proposed next steps.
- Producing bills of materials for products.
- Working closely with other members of the Engineering team to ensure objectives are met.
- Any other duties or responsibilities that may reasonably be required from time to time.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- An Engineering degree, preferably involving mechanical, electrical or product design.
- Relevant work experience is preferable.
- Research and development engineering experience preferable.
- Experience of 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience of working with Product Development.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and experience of product testing.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Good project management, organisation and communication skills.
- A flexible and cooperative approach.
- Able to work autonomously with concise reporting when required.
- Reliable, innovative and collaborative.
SALES ENGINEER

OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:
This role includes working within the Meech Business Development team to develop and grow sales of the full range of Meech products in the UK & Ireland, maximise penetration of existing repeat customers, increase market coverage and grow the number of active customers each year.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactive development of new prospects and leads to ensure the order pipeline is strong and maintained for all Meech products.
- Focus on ‘end user’ customers whilst the BD team focus on original machinery manufacturers and house accounts, but collaborate when needed.
- Develop a regional plan call plan for different customer tiers: multi-national key accounts, national accounts and smaller transactional end users.
- Effective telephone, email and LinkedIn prospecting, with proactive follow-up of new sales leads and marketing campaigns.
- Scheduling, planning and prioritising efficient and effective sales trips.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve goals, working closely with the BD Team.
- Effective utilisation of CRM and other Meech information systems and management tools.
- Production of reports, presentations, quotes, correspondence and pricing proposals.
- Sales budgeting and forecasting.
- Provide ongoing market feedback and details of trends and developments.
- Recommend and support marketing strategies/campaigns for all product lines in the region.
- Assist Project Engineers with installations, commissioning and trouble-shooting as required.
- Provide UK specialist support for other direct Meech sales team members, offices and distributors when requested.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Cover the UK and Ireland with willingness to travel regularly including overnight stays. A clean UK driving licence is required.
- Proven business-to-business technical sales ability and good commercial understanding, ideally within a related industry.
- Technical background and/or aptitude.
- Skilled in consultative and transaction selling, using a range of sales techniques to negotiate effectively with different customer decision makers.
- Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills to include professional credibility, networking, relationship building, negotiating and influencing.
- Proactive, self-motivated and achievement driven. Organised, confident, self-disciplined, thorough and logical.
