This month, meet Anna Tanigaki – Marketing Assistant
When Anna Tanigaki joined Meech in June last year, she brought with her a genuinely global perspective and a curiosity for how things work behind the scenes. Having lived, studied and worked across Japan, the US and the UK, she arrived with something quietly powerful – cultural intelligence, empathy, and an instinctive ability to connect with people wherever they are.
“I think having that exposure helped me a lot,” she says. “Knowing how people communicate in different places, how they interact, how business culture works – that made it so much easier to settle in here and understand our global customers.”
That global mindset now shapes Anna’s day‑to‑day role. She supports Meech’s US sales team, helping align regional activity with global strategy while bringing complex engineering solutions to life. At its heart, her role is about uncovering and sharing the stories behind Meech technology.
One of those stories came unexpectedly over dinner with the US sales team.
“They were telling me about work they’d done in the chocolate industry – how even wrappers have static and contamination issues,” she explains. “I love chocolate, so it was amazing to realise that something I eat might have Meech technology behind it. It’s fascinating to see how we support production in ways most people never see.”
Insights like this now shape how Anna communicates Meech’s value, drawing on real‑world examples from food, beverage, packaging and pharmaceutical customers, which has been vital to one of her first major projects at Meech – exploring the growing opportunity around 3D component cleaning.
“When we talk about ‘3D components’, people don’t always know what that means,” she says. “But once you start looking, you see them everywhere. Coffee pods, bottle caps, cosmetic packaging, car headlights, trays – things we use every day. Anything three‑dimensional that needs to be clean before filling or sealing.”
As with the chocolate wrappers, understanding this world has reshaped the way she sees everyday products.
“I use coffee pods all the time, and I suddenly realised, oh – they’re 3D components too.”
“There’s huge potential in the US,” Anna notes. “A lot of businesses don’t realise how important cleaning is until they have problems with waste or product quality. Educating them is a big opportunity.”
The project has involved working closely with engineers, product specialists and the US sales team to understand how Meech’s ionising nozzles, jet stream technologies and static control systems remove contamination, reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
For Anna, these connections don’t stop at the office door.
“I feel really lucky,” she says. “People here are lovely and the company cares about community. We even have a badminton club every Tuesday with people from engineering, sales and marketing – it helps you meet people you wouldn’t normally work with.”
Meech’s wider commitment to charity, fundraising and internal events has also made an impression. “It shows the company really cares about people and the wider community. It’s rewarding to be part of it.”
She also points to Meech’s ability to punch above its weight.
“We’re a mid‑sized company, but we operate globally – Europe, Asia, the US. We tailor marketing materials for each region and still maintain a consistent brand. It’s rare to see a company our size with that reach.”
Looking ahead, Anna’s focus is increasingly digital, as AI and search reshape how customers find technical information.
“People aren’t always going directly to websites anymore,” she says. “AI tools pull information from third parties, so we need to tailor our SEO and content to make sure Meech stays visible in this new landscape.”
Working with Meech’s digital consultant, she’s learning how to adapt content for the future – a challenge she’s excited to take on.
