1 sided film pinning to aluminum sheet

PROBLEM

Automated stacking systems use vacuum to pick up rolled aluminum sheet from the conveyor and place onto a stack ready for transportation.

Stacking aluminum sheets against each other risks surface damage. The robot can pick and place a protective sheet between the aluminum but adds a process time and runs the risk of the sheet does not lay flat.

SOLUTION

As the sheet is conveyed after cutting on the roller bed, a protective film can be statically pinned to the underside of the aluminium using a 993R generator bar. This allows the robot to pick up the sheet and protective film in one action and lay it onto the stack.

Note: Non-coated paper used as a separator must have a surface resistance of >1010 for the static bond to last
