Cigarette overwrapper

Static control on cigarette packet over wrapper

PROBLEM

Static charges generated on the unwinding film builds up. The film is cut to length prior to passes onto the vacuum belts. The high static charges will cause the lead end of the film to stick to the knives, buckling and not feeding onto the vacuum belts.

SOLUTION

Neutralising the film prior to the sheeting knives removes enough of the static charge to prevent the film from misfeeding.

A 924IPS bar mounted before the nip rollers and cutter is the closest location to provide the solution to this issue.
