Electrostatic sorting and removal of impurities from plant processing

PROBLEM

Precise alignment of components prior to inspection such as silicone chips by a quality control inspection camera is imperative. Any misalignment will result in unnecessary product scrappage. 

SOLUTION

As the component is positioned on a rotating table, applying a static charge to the component will temporarily bond the component to the table (Figure 18). This will ensure that the component placement is consistent. After inspection and removal of the component, the table must then be neutralised prior to the reapplication of more static charges.
