Sonic Welding using Vortex Tubes

Application

The heat generated from the Sonic Welding process can cause the gun to overheat. A Vortex Tube can be used to control the heat transfer, thereby protecting the gun. 

Example

A company uses Sonic Welding to join ends of kitchen paper packaging together. When Sonic Welding is used for prolonged periods the heat generated from the Sonic Welding can cause the gun to overheat. This leads to costly machine downtime. A basic Vortex Tube was mounted onto the hand held Sonic Welding Gun with the outlet directed onto the tip of the gun. By operating the Vortex Tube and the Sonic Gun simultaneously the tip of the Sonic Gun was cooled sufficiently to prevent overheating and stop unnecessary downtime.
