Air Amplifiers entrain ambient air up to 25:1 leading to lower compressed air usage, lower running costs and therefore lower energy bills. Also providing a noise reduction of up to 50dBA compared to ‘open pipe’ systems, far below the upper exposure value of 85dBA set by the UK Health and Safety Standards.
Air Amplifiers have no moving parts so there is little maintenance. However, being used in an industrial environment they may become dirty. If this is the case please clean in soapy water, allow to dry and reinstall the Air Amplifier.
The Meech Air Amplifier uses the basic principles stemming from the Coanda effect and the Venturi effect to entrain ambient air at ratios between 4 and 25:1, depending on the model.
A small amount of compressed air is released through an adjustable circular slot inside the Air Amplifier. This creates a ‘tube of air’ that travels on the inside of the Amplifier towards the front, creating areas of low pressure and entraining the ambient air to boost airflow.
In some areas of HVAC systems, airflow may be insufficient due to long duct runs, bends, or obstructions Air Amplifiers can be installed to boost the airflow in these zones to improve efficiency.
Furthermore, in environments where the HVAC system needs to handle fume or dust extraction, Meech Air Amplifiers can improve extraction efficiency, increasing indoor air quality whilst reducing the strain on existing HVAC systems.
The Meech Air Amplifier is available in 5 sizes ranging from 18mm to 100mm air outlet.
Depending on the model and air outlet size for the Meech Air Amplifier will determine the air amplification ratio. The Air Amplifiers entrain ambient air ranging from 4 and 25:1 (model dependent).
The Meech Air Amplifiers are available in aluminum or stainless steel for applications where they need to be more hard wearing and resistant.
However, the stainless-steel version is only available in 3 sizes (32, 51, and 100mm outlet) as opposed to 5 when constructed from aluminum (18, 32, 37, 51, and 100mm outlet).
At 80 Psi (5.5bar) the Meech Air Amplifier (51mm Outlet) will produce 78dBA which deems them a safe level of noise exposure to use with no PPE.
