While the Hyperion range includes an integrated power supply, a switch mode or power cable it still essential in order to provide the correct 24VDC power requirement.
The switch mode converts mains AC 110/240V 50/60Hz to 24VDC. Where the machine already has a 24VDC output the bar can be connected directly to the machine using a 4 pin M8 power cable.
The LED light indicator on the ionising bar will communicate the current operating status of the bar.
Green Constant – Bar is on and working correctly
Green Flashing – BarMaster or other device connected
Red Flashing – Cleaning Required
Red Constant – Fault detected
Hyperion products are designed to work with 24VDC/ 15W, 48W or 96W Max (model dependent). This is contrast to AC anti-static bars which require bulky power packs/transformers.
Yes, the output voltage, ion balance and frequency Hz rate can all be adjusted to suit your requirements, by using a Meech barmaster.
Or for instant change or automated control the Hyperion Smart Control Touch is the perfect smart controller.
The bar monitoring function alerts operator to essential maintenance or worse – non-performance!
As an ioniser becomes dirty the performance and effective range is reduced. The reduced performance will affect product quality, customer satisfaction and profitability.
Adjustable outputs enable the Hyperion ioniser to be fine-tuned to suit the application. Voltage can be adjusted to reduce any off-set voltage. Frequency can be adjusted to suit different operating distances. Balance can be set for the most rapid static control in demanding applications or for the best balance on sensitive applications. To get the most out of ionising bar outputs should be optimised to suit.
Meech Hyperion products have an internal power supply and as such they will still need a sufficient grounded 24V DC supply before they are used in operation. Most Meech Hyperion bars feature a grounding post for this purpose, we recommend that, for certainty, the bar is grounded using this post, in addition to using a grounded 24V DC supply.
The breakout cables attached to the Meech Switchmode is for connection of the dual alarm outputs. The dual alarm outputs can very depending on the Meech product attached. Please refer to the relevant operating manual for more information.
The simple answer is the bar is too small for a secondary earthing stud. In operation the bar should be sufficiently grounded through the 24V DC power supply to avoid damage to the bar or the power supply.
As a general rule the closer the Hyperion bar is to the material then the faster decay times you will achieve. A 924IPS bar mounted at 20mm will control static charges faster than a bar at 100mm – (5x the distance, 5 x the time).
Although mounting the bar too close to the material could lead to performance being hindered. The minimum distance a Hyperion bar can operate at is based on the distance between the pins, the higher the output voltage the greater the distance between the pins.
The ion reference is set by Meech during the initial calibration and should only be reset after making changes to either the balance, frequency or voltage parameters.
N.B. Make sure the bar is clean before resetting the ion reference.
